Great minds think alike...right?

Last week one of my customers came in with a great fabric by F. Schumacher....designed by Trina Turk, Super Paradise Print in a cream/grey/lemongrass colorway that is so ummm, i don't know. Great? Perfect? All of the above? Anyway, i had been seeing this pattern from afar for quite some time since it is on display in the Schumacher showroom (on my daily route). The scale of this print is monumental (27" x 27" repeat), which i love...but didn't have the impact from two floors up! Seeing it in person and then visualizing it on a vintage settee really got my creative juices flowing, so i popped downstairs to grab a sample! Guess what? All the other colorways were well stocked, but not the great grey/yellow combo that I was grooving on. It is true...great minds DO think alike.

I grabbed the 'punch' colorway...which is very fruity and sweet just like it's namesake and think it would look amazing as a louis style chair back. It is an outdoor fabric, so it would be so suitable for worry-free dining chairs.

Inspiration is everywhere

As I was looking back over my weekend as I tend to do on Sunday evenings, I realized that I was inspired in so many ways over the last couple of days...from a great breakfast with my dad to fresh daisies on the table, the Maison Luxe sample sale on Sunday surrounded by beautiful things and happy people, to the simple pleasure of a good slice of pizza and Anthony Bourdain on the tv, it all worked together to refresh and re-inspire me for the week ahead!
And isn't that what the weekend is really for? I think so.

Another great piece from Jeffrey Braun Furniture is this table that smoothly slides open to store anything and almost everything! Pictured here in wenge and zebrawood for a stylish surprise when open. One of the things I like about the function of the piece is that you don't need to remove anything from the top surface to open it! Nice.

Okay, so i have put it off long enough. I am now blogging for our showroom, G. R. Hedges! It's about time.
